Online guide to Den Hollinden music

Den Hollinden music = Den Tunes™

DenTunes.com is the place to go to get up-to-the-minute information on Den Hollinden music--what songs are new, where to find them, what's on the radio--everything you need to know to keep track of what's going on. Don't forget to bookmark this page and return often for breaking news.

DenTunes™ tag cloud

Curious about the balloon-looking thing with all the writing on it at the top of the page? It's called a tag cloud and it's a state-of-the-art way of presenting lists of information. The particular cloud you see here is the very first application (we know of) of the technology to the songs of a particular recording artist. The words are song titles, and the diagram simultaneously shows two key pieces of information about the songs: popularity/promotion and age/release chronology. Titles in a larger font are by some measure more popular (bigger audience response, more radio airplay, more publicity, etc.) Titles in a darker color were released more recently or had some other recent activity such as being included in a current live show.

We might guess from the cloud, for example, that "St. Henry Christmas" is an older but still relatively popular song, while "Blacksburg" is currently both the latest as well as the most intensely-promoted release. Some fans will be interested mostly in the latest and greatest. Others will prefer to uncover something that few others have heard. Still others will ignore the formatting completely and treat the cloud as a simple (albeit funny-shaped) list. The beauty of this model is that all three of these approaches (and probably others) are equally possible.

Current DenTunes™ singles: "Blacksburg" and "Christmas in Huntingburg"

Buy "Blacksburg" here or visit the Buy page for other options.

Den Hollinden's current single "Blacksburg" (Denuine DR1005) is a tribute to Virginia Tech and the students and faculty who died there. You can find a direct link to the Blacksburg page at DenTunes.com/blacksburg. The song was released to manufacturing on April 16, 2008, the first anniversary of the tragedy, and is available at digital retail today.

The Den Hollinden holiday single is "Christmas in Huntingburg" (Denuine DR1006.) The direct link to the Christmas in Huntingburg page is at DenTunes.com/christmasinhuntingburg. That song's release was Thanksgiving 2008--just in time for the Christmas radio season.
